THE ONE SCOPE by DNT OPTICS

DNT “The One” Scope Review
Scope Revolution
After 15 years of teaching long-range shooting, I believe we are seeing a second wave in scope technology. This shift is making quality optics more accessible.
Like it or not, some overseas manufacturing—especially from China—has caught up to where American scopes were about 10 years ago. These scopes may not be “professional grade,” but they outperform most budget optics under $1,000.
Background
I am selective about gear. I don’t buy based on brand names alone. I expect my equipment to:
-
Work every time
-
Last for years
-
Be backed by a solid warranty
-
Have no defects
I’ve had a high-end scope fail before. The objective lens fell out of a nearly new optic. That should never happen.
I have over 15 years of experience in long-range shooting. I am a certified sniper instructor and have set several unofficial world records. I’ve trained hunters, hobbyists, and law enforcement.
Accuracy is my standard. If it’s not precise, it doesn’t count. We shoot small targets at long distances—not oversized targets for easy hits.
First Impressions
The DNT The One 7-35x56mm rifle scope impressed me right away.
I met the company at SHOT Show 2026. No one is paying me for this review. I was simply asked to test the scope.
At around $600–$665, this scope offers strong value.
What stands out:
-
Japanese X-ED glass is clear and bright
-
No noticeable chromatic aberration
-
Reticle is sharp and easy to use
-
Turrets are smooth and well-designed
-
Controls are clearly marked
The eyebox is forgiving. Illumination is crisp, and the full reticle lights up. It works well even in low light and could pair with night vision if needed.
Minor Complaints
These are small issues. Most users won’t notice them.
1. Weight
The scope is slightly heavier than my high-end optics.
This won’t matter to most shooters.
2. Cap Sealing (Theoretical)
The caps do not have O-rings.
In theory, dust or moisture could get in over time.
The scope is sealed and nitrogen-purged, so this is not a major concern. I expect this may be improved in future versions.
Performance So Far
-
Return-to-zero testing has been solid
-
Adjustments are smooth and consistent
-
Controls stay in place once set
I’ve taken this scope out to 1,950 yards so far with good results. I plan to push it further.

Final Thoughts
DNT appears serious about building quality optics. Based on this scope, they are on the right track.
I’m interested in testing their thermal and night vision products next.
This scope has been reliable and enjoyable to use. It may become a permanent part of my setup.
For the price, it delivers strong performance and modern features.
